OUR RIDERS

CHRISTOPH LECHNER

Rehall Rider Since 2014

Age: 23
Nationality: German
Set-up: Snowboarder

Rider story

I am a professional halfpipe rider and am part of the German national team. I am also a professional ski and snowboard instructor. I currently live in Hinterglemm, Austria. When I am not snowboarding, I like to spend my time cycling, downhill biking, skiing, telemarking or trampolining. I'm just in love with all kinds of action sports.

Why Rehall?
When I started my professional snowboarding career I first came into contact with Rehall. I immediately fell in love with the designs and the cut of the pieces. From the beginning of my career Rehall trusted me with my progress and supported me with all the important gear for the winter. I always like to wear the gear because of the great durability and the super comfortable fit. Perfect for cold and warm days. Another important point for me was to have dry and warm clothes during my day in the snow. My favorite and most worn piece of clothing from Rehall is the baggy snow pants - the minimalistic and baggy look is perfect for everyday use.
How did you get into professional snowboarding?
Both my parents are ski and snowboard instructors, so I started skiing and snowboarding at a young age. In the winter, we spent the weekends in our apartment in Saalbach, where we were on the slopes all day long. I fell in love with jumping at a very young age, whether it was with skis or snowboard. But until I was 13, the focus was still on skiing. At that time, I took part in a snowboard competition at school, where I managed to outdo some of the German national team riders. My performance in this competition and my YouTube channel made the freestyle coach aware of my skills. After trying out both disciplines for a few months, I decided to go to the sports boarding school in Berchtesgaden and join the freestyle team.
What are your favorite places to snowboard?
1. Kitzsteinhorn, Austria: My home resort, super fun shaped park all winter season. Best halfpipe training camp with airbag in preseason. 2. Laax, Switzerland: Laax has one of the best halfpipes in the world, great vibe on the mountain and lots of riders every day. 3. Mammoth Mountain, California, USA: One of the most beautiful landscapes, lots of snow, in California and close to LA. It also has one of my favorite halfpipes.
What is your most memorable moment?
The Youth Olympic Games with the German team in Lillehammer 2016. From there my goal is to participate in the Olympic Games in 2026.

Florian Lechner

Rehall Rider Since 2016

Age: 18
Nationality: Austria
Set-up: Snowboarder

Rider story

I am a professional snowboarder specializing in halfpipe, certified ski and snowboard instructor and former mountain bike cross-country skier for the Austrian national team. My journey with Rehall began at the age of 8 and I have been proudly representing the brand ever since. Rehall was one of the first brands to sponsor me and it has been a constant throughout my sports career. My entire family also supports and promotes Rehall through all of our winter sports channels.

How does Rehall gear help you perform at your best during competitions and adventures?
Rehall clothing is incredibly comfortable, with a style that is both versatile and eye-catching. The variety of colours and styles means there is something for everyone. In terms of functionality, it is spot-on - whether it is +20°C or -20°C, there is always a perfect fit that adapts to different conditions, so I am never too hot or too cold. Rehall is a key factor in helping me stay relaxed during competitions and training. Whether I am standing on the podium at a flower ceremony, braving -30°C temperatures in the Calgary halfpipe or enjoying +20°C temperatures at Mount Hood summer camp, even during intense airbag sessions in Banger Park, Austria, I can rely on the right gear for the job. Rehall ensures that I am always prepared.
How did you get into skiing/snowboarding and what inspired you to pursue it professionally?
My parents introduced me to skiing and snowboarding. I started skiing just before my 2nd birthday and immediately fell in love with the snow. By the age of 12, I was competing in both disciplines. I became the number 1 skier in Salzburg, won the German championships and came 2nd in the Austrian MTB XCO tournament. My parents eventually pointed out that it would be difficult to continue excelling in multiple sports, and they were right. I chose to focus on snowboarding and MTB XCO to split my time between winter and summer. However, as my passion for snowboarding grew, I eventually left cycling behind to fully focus on the sport that fascinated me the most.
How do you continue to improve in such a physically and mentally demanding sport?
For me, the key to continued improvement is staying in shape and training consistently. It’s not about doing a trick 10,000 times, it’s about perfecting one trick by practicing it 10,000 times. If you maintain that discipline, you build muscle memory and mental strength to continue to progress.

I am a snowboarder, Red Bull athlete, 2x Olympic gold medalist, 1x world champion and 6x Crystal Globe SBX Overall winner. Since 2018, I am proud to be part of the Rehall outerwear family.

Why Rehall?
Rehall is more than just a brand to me: it is reliable, solid and stylish. The relationship I have with their team is based on trust and mutual respect. Their gear has never let me down and I love being associated with such a passionate family business.
How did you get started snowboarding and what inspired you to go professional?
I started snowboarding when I was 6 years old and quickly fell in love with it. Joining a local snowboard club pushed me to set bigger goals. Before I knew it, I was on my way to becoming a professional snowboarder.
What are your favorite places in the world to snowboard and why?
Japan, hands down. The powder runs are unreal and the snow quality is top notch!
What is your biggest achievement in your career so far and what are you most proud of?
Winning 2 Olympic gold medals is my biggest achievement. But I am also very proud of my video projects; Shapes and Reshapes. They were a creative outlet for me to show my love for snowboarding in a different way.
What skills do you think are most important for beginners in skiing or snowboarding?
Relax, stay focused and set clear goals. Snowboarding is all about finding your rhythm. Keep riding, analyze your movements and repeat. Off the slopes, work on your balance, strength and flexibility. Staying active through fitness, cycling or trampoline sessions helps a lot.

I am a big mountain and park skier. I had skiing under my belt as soon as I could walk and since then it has been my favorite thing in the world. There is no other sport as good as skiing and snowboarding. The mountains give you a sense of freedom and the ability to get creative with the slope and options. At home in the Allgäu, because I know every spot and every mountain there, but even there there is always something to discover.

I think there is always a lot of talent involved, but ultimately it is the skiers who enjoy every aspect of the sport that stand out from the rest.
How important is the community aspect of skiing/snowboarding to you?
It is by far the most important part of the sport. Surrounding yourself with people who support and push you will always make you a better skier.

Rehall Rider Since 2015

Age: 28
Nationality: Belgium
Set-up: Skiing

Rider story

As a child, the annual ski vacation with my family was always the highlight of the year. At the time, I never thought that skiing could be a real sport, especially in Belgium. Like most kids, I played soccer, but when I was 14 I broke my ankle while playing and had to recover for a year. Then I wanted a fresh start and stumbled upon Snowvalley in Peer, my local snowdome (aka “the fridge”). There I discovered the tight-knit community of freestyle skiers who trained and had fun together.

Why Rehall? What do you love about the brand?
I had the pleasure of meeting Veronique, Ronald and Dana and was inspired by their passion for snow sports and how they have built a successful snow clothing brand in a country without mountains, just like me in Belgium. I have been with them for a while and have seen the company evolve. Rehall clothing is top quality and keeps me comfortable and dry, whether it is freezing or warmer. Their durable clothing is perfect for freestyle skiing and can handle crashes without tearing. I especially love their stylish anorak jackets. During competitions I can focus on my performance, knowing that my clothing will hold up. It is great to represent such a supportive brand.
What does skiing mean to you on a personal level?
Skiing is everything to me, I can’t imagine life without skiing. It brings me so much joy and happiness. Being part of this incredible community makes it even better.
What was your most memorable moment while skiing?
One of my best memories was a heli-ski trip in Canada with a group of Belgian and Dutch skiers and snowboarders. It was a unique experience and I hope to do it again someday.
What does a typical training day look like for you?
It all depends on the snow forecast. If the conditions are good, I’ll be in the park or off-piste riding all day with a group of like-minded riders.

Besides skiing, I am passionate about surfing, wakeboarding, golfing and occasionally you can find me on a mountain bike.

Why Rehall?
Being sponsored by Rehall means you get incredible support and feel great while skiing. Their clothing gives me the confidence to perform better by keeping me comfortable on the slopes. The clothing feels great, looks stylish and keeps you dry even in rainy conditions without feeling like you’re carrying 100kg of gear! I also love the direction Rehall’s designs have taken in recent years. My favourite product from Rehall is the new baggy pants for the upcoming season.

Rehall Rider Since 2014

Age: 28
Nationality: Spain

Rider story

I grew up in BCN and started skating when I was 14. In the course of my life, I discovered La Cerdanya and started snowboarding there. This became my passion and now I live it every day. As much as I love snowboarding, I combine it with downhill and skating.Rehall came into my life because my club works with it, so I have used some of your products.

What is your favorite Rehall product and why?
The snowboard gear we wore at Academia Riding (jacket and pants) was waterproof and kept me warm during all my sessions. Plus the aesthetic was so fresh!
What are your favorite places in the world to ski/snowboard and why?
Porte Puymorens is my favorite place because that's where I discovered freeride.
What does a typical training day look like for you?
I train in the morning with gymnastics to activate my body for the day. Then I go to the ski resort where I spend my day as a club coach. Then I train freestyle in the snowpark of Font Romeu. If the conditions allow it, I look for freeride lines to end the day with a lot of energy.
What advice would you give to skiers/snowboarders who want to improve their technique?
I would recommend snowboarders to be surrounded by people with a lot of experience and a high level to learn new skills and techniques.
What advice would you give to young people who want to become professional skiers/snowboarders?
Discipline. I would say to young people that first of all it is important to believe in yourself. You have to work your way up. Nobody gives anything for free, so it is important to keep working on your performance.
What is your ultimate dream within the ski or snowboard world and how do you work towards achieving it?
Work-wise I see myself leading my club, so at the moment I work with other snowboard clubs to gain experience. Just like in my own riding career I want to get the best version of myself on the slopes and win as many Freeride World Qualifier races as possible.

Thomas rich

Rehall Rider Since 2017

Age: 31
Nationality: Spain
Set-up: Snowboarder and mountain biker

Rider story

I am a professional snowboarder and freerider, born in Spain, and now spend my winters in Switzerland in search of the best snow and terrain the Alps have to offer. I have been supported by Rehall since 2017 and the journey has been incredible.

What does it mean to you to be sponsored by Rehall?
Being sponsored by Rehall means a lot to me. After years of working together, it feels like I am part of a family. Rehall supports all my endeavors and consistently provides me with top-notch equipment, which is crucial to my development as an athlete. They are a huge relief when it comes to equipment, which keeps me financially stable and allows me to fully focus on my sport. This kind of support motivates me to push myself harder, aim higher and achieve better results.
How did you get into skiing or snowboarding and what inspired you to do it professionally?
I started skiing at the age of 4 and snowboarding at 11. From that moment on I became passionate about snowboarding. When I was 19, I started working as a ski and snowboard instructor to support myself and to be able to continue living in the snow. Around the same time, I started competing in freeride events. These competitions pushed me to improve and helped me become the rider I am today.
What does snowboarding mean to you on a personal level?
Snowboarding is my passion. Nothing else gives me the same level of happiness. Whether I’m sliding down a slope, making a perfect turn, pulling off a trick or reaching the top of a mountain, the feeling is unlike anything else in life.
How do you deal with the mental and physical challenges of your sport?
As a professional athlete, you inevitably experience highs and lows. The key is to always find something that keeps you motivated to keep going. Whether it’s working on a new trick, signing up for a competition, or getting involved in an exciting project like a snow trip to an unknown location or filming a snowboard movie. Those goals keep me focused and driven.
What is your favorite product?
My favorite product is the snowboard pants. The high back keeps me dry while riding. Whether I am spraying snow, falling or just riding through deep powder. They offer comfort and functionality, making them a must-have for my rides.

Walter "Wally" Brughelli

Rehall Rider Since 2018

Age: 35
Nationality: Switzerland
Set-up: Snowboarder

Rider story

From the very first time I went snowboarding, I fell in love with the art of it. After finishing college in my early 20s, I began my first snow season. Little did I realize that this would be the beginning of countless winters in the mountains. Snowboarding took me all over the world - competing in freeride events, filming and even coaching (I had the honor of coaching the Chilean freestyle snowboard team).

Why Rehall? What do you love about our brand?
Being part of Rehall feels like being part of a family. A few years ago we discussed the need for technical clothing that could handle extreme conditions like -30°C. Rehall took on the challenge and developed clothing that would allow us to perform at our best in harsh conditions. We have been involved in the whole process, testing and giving feedback to create the perfect product. This collaboration is incredible, because we help create high-performance gear that supports people who push their limits. The new DXR series is a testament to this passion.
What is your biggest achievement in your career and what are you most proud of?
One of my proudest moments was shooting a documentary in the Alps with my best friend, Thomas Rich. A glacier broke, sending icebergs into a lake that froze over, and we prepared ourselves for a whole season to ride those icebergs. We spent two nights at 2700 meters in -28°C and filmed it all. A highlight was a photo of me doing a hand plant on an iceberg, which won the Swiss snowboard award for best photo of the year. It was an unforgettable experience, made possible by our photographer Fabio Schönenberge and the Rehall gear that kept us warm. Translated with DeepL.com (free version)
What was your most memorable snowboarding moment?
This year I fulfilled another dream by dedicating a documentary to my grandfather. Together with my girlfriend, Ana Marea Zgraggen, who is also part of the Rehall family. We explored the Verzasca Valley, where my grandfather always told me there was a mountain you couldn’t ski down. He was right: even today I can’t ski down that mountain. But snowboarding is a different story. We found a way to conquer it and even managed to ski a couloir that had never been skied before. It was an emotional and meaningful experience, as a tribute to our grandfathers who were such a big part of our lives. Translated with DeepL.com (free version)
How important is the community aspect of snowboarding to you?
For me, the community is everything. “Happy riding” is how Thomas, Marea and I describe the pure joy of snowboarding with friends. There’s nothing like sharing those moments of happiness, pushing each other to try new tricks and riding together. The energy of the crew lifts you up and makes the experience even better. More happy riding and less negativity - that’s the mindset!
